Painter Shea Brook was born in 1989 in the small town of Kennebunkport Maine. Raised in a home surrounded by family art including her ancestors Peggy Bacon, Gina Knee and Alexander Brook, the classical style was of great importance. In the medium of acrylic, Brook took advantage of the picturesque landscape of her coastal community. It wasn't until Brook's first year of college at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn New York that she found great inspiration in grunge, noise and architecture that has shaped her artwork to this day.
Missing the simple life Brook transferred to the University of Maine Orono, where she received a BFA in Studio Art accompanied by a minor in Art History. Brook's fascination with cityscapes continued to develop with different techniques, points of perspective and her love of traveling to cities around the world.
Four years after earning her undergraduate degree Brook continued her education at the Maine College of Art receiving her Master Degree in Art Education with a sense of purpose. Within the program Brook had opportunities teaching students grades K-12 in various environments implementing Unit Plans and creating modifications for those in need. Brook is currently creating her own art as well as ensuring that children from Maine are provided with the necessary skills and tools within the Arts to succeed.
