For this project students watched a video of Tibetan Monks creating a colored sand Mandala at Clark University. Mandalas represent balance, compassion for all creatures and peace. Students learned about this ancient Asian tradition and learned about symmetry and radial design. Students learned that what you do to one section you must do to all to create a symmetrical design. Creating their designs took great problem solving skills and they had to pull from previous project line design skills to create these beautiful works of art.
