3rd Grade: Cubist Self Portraits
Students learned how to correctly map out their facial proportions, were introduced to mixed media material combinations and explored the early 20th century art movement Cubism.

Materials Used: Pencil, hand mirror, watercolors, colored sharpies, construction crayons, black oil pastel.
Students learned how to create their own maze with one continuous line. The guidelines: The line cannot touch or cross at any point, the line cannot go off the page, one single line, must fill the space and must end where it began. Students then used different values of Primary and Secondary colors to color in certain areas.
Vocabulary Learned: Continuous, line design, space, overlapping, primary colors, secondary colors, color value, shades, solid color.
Materials Used: Pencil, colored pencil.
